Digital Content Specialist
Overview
Fortis Institute is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and organized Digital Content Specialist to help manage the daily publishing workflow for podcasts and related Fortis+ content.
This role requires someone who can present biblical content clearly and accurately through titles, descriptions, and thumbnails while managing the publishing workflow with excellence. While publishing responsibilities are important, a significant portion of this role involves creating effective titles, descriptions, and thumbnails that clearly communicate the content of each episode.
The ideal candidate is passionate about helping biblical truth be communicated effectively and ensuring content is published accurately, consistently, and on time.
Primary Responsibilities
Content Packaging & Creative Development

Own the creation of podcast and WTV titles, descriptions, and thumbnails.

Develop clear and engaging titles that accurately represent episode content while maintaining Fortis Institute’s theological standards and editorial voice.

Create effective podcast and WTV thumbnails that clearly communicate episode themes and align with Fortis and Wretched brand standards.

Monitor content performance and recommend title, description, or thumbnail adjustments when appropriate.

Stay informed about podcast, YouTube, and digital publishing best practices to help present content effectively to new and existing audiences.
Daily Publishing & Quality Control

Publish podcast episodes to WordPress and ensure all required assets are in place.

Update Fortis+ content as needed.

Verify that episodes are published correctly across all platforms.

Perform quality-control checks to identify feed, formatting, metadata, or audio issues.

Spot-check published episodes to ensure content is complete and functioning properly.

Ensure publishing deadlines are consistently met.
Project & Asset Management

Maintain organized publishing assets, content calendars, and workflows within the ministry’s project management platform (Notion).

Track deadlines and ensure all required materials are ready before release.

Help maintain documentation and publishing procedures for consistency and efficiency.
Engagement & Optimization

Monitor podcast comments, reviews, and audience feedback.

Track content performance and identify opportunities for improvement.

Assist with repackaging or resurfacing evergreen content when appropriate.

The ideal candidate is both creative and organized. They enjoy crafting titles and thumbnails, but they also have the attention to detail necessary to manage publishing workflows accurately.

Comfortable working with deadlines and recurring publishing schedules.

Able to work quickly without sacrificing accuracy.

Familiar with Christian media, podcasting, YouTube-style packaging, and digital content trends.

Theologically aligned with Fortis Institute’s mission and doctrinal commitments.

Able to receive feedback and work under editorial oversight while learning the voice and tone of the ministry.

Self-motivated and capable of managing recurring responsibilities with minimal supervision.
Preferred Skills

Experience publishing podcasts or digital media content.

WordPress experience.

Notion experience.

Canva, Photoshop, or similar design experience.

Familiarity with AI tools for creative support.

Strong writing and editing instincts.

Understanding of effective titles, thumbnails, and audience engagement.

Familiarity with Wretched, Fortis Institute, and Reformed evangelical content.
Schedule & Location

Approximately 30 hours per week.

Eastern or Central Time Zone preferred.

Remote work may be considered for the right candidate, provided publishing deadlines can be consistently met.
Role Summary
This role is responsible for the creation, packaging, and publishing of Fortis Institute podcast and video content. The right candidate will help ensure content is presented clearly, published accurately, and reflects the theological convictions and voice of the ministry.
