Introduction
Let’s be honest – marriage and parenting are hard work! In a fallen world, these two endeavors are not for the faint of heart. When you step back and consider what marriage and parenting are, there is hope. The concept of marriage is belittled by our society, but as the union between one man and one woman, it is to be highly esteemed. Much more than a legal status which yields a tax exemption, Paul tells us in Ephesians that marriage between a man and woman is to proclaim the Gospel to the world. Marriage is to be a walking billboard advertising the glorious union between the Lord Jesus and His Church. Likewise, parenting is a high calling where God intended for a man and woman to disciple their offspring, raising them in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
