It’s Mailbag Friday! I have a question about age gaps in relationships.
Wretched Radio | Air Date: July 26, 2024
Segment 1
I’d like to hear your thoughts on age gaps in relationships where the woman is significantly older than the man–say, by 5 or even 10 years. How should Christians approach this biblically? Is it unwise to pursue such a relationship? -Anonymous
I’m uncertain about my salvation and feel convicted about willfully sinning and being ashamed of Jesus. My emotions and desires to love Jesus and glorify God are not very strong. I want these desires to grow and to not be ashamed of Christ. If I’m not saved, how can I experience godly sorrow over my sin? If I am saved, how can I strengthen my desires and stop committing these sins? -Isaac
If someone is a vegan, a CrossFit enthusiast, and a KJV only-ist, which one are they going to talk about first? -Jonathan
Segment 2
What is the difference between meditating on God’s Word and doing devotions? I don’t believe I’ve ever done devotions before, and if I’m suppose to be doing them, I want to start. -Peggy
Segment 3
You recently explained a lot of good things in a fantastic way about sovereignty, but one area was missed. How does prayer factor in? This is something I’m really struggling with right now. I know everything you explained is right and good, but help me understand this. -Eileen
Why would God go to the trouble of creating both men and women if He knew that His creation would be at war with each other? -Jeremy
You recently indicated that there was no significance to the timing of the shooting of President Trump at 6:11 p.m. It is obvious that God can use an event in multiple ways. Why is it not possible that God used the time of the shooting to remind us that the real battle is spiritual? -John
Segment 4
I sent this question two weeks ago, but when Jimmy read it to you, he cut out the most important part of the question, and messed everything up. Why is that guy even there? I have a dear family member who believes that the Disney corporation is Satanic. I disagree with her. She believes it is wrong to take a vacation to Disney World and give that corporation money. I believe that it is a point of Christian liberty, that she shouldn’t if it is against her conscience, but I can since it is not against mine. Is this really a point of liberty, or am I in the wrong? -Anonymous
I work at a Christian summer camp with kids ages 6-12. During the day, we have a 30-minute period for Bible discussions and a Gospel presentation throughout the week. However, I face two problems: I’m not supposed to approach the subject of Hell, and the kids are rarely interested in talking about the Bible when they could be playing games. How should I address these issues? -Anonymous
